The
goals of the SDCO are to:
- All
teachers in all schools will experience high quality professional
development as part of their school day by the year 2007.
- Promote
the use of the National Staff Development
Council (NSDC) standards as a vehicle for professional development
planning and implementation.

By 2007, SDCO will increase membership by 100% through rewards/recognitions,
membership review and practices.
- By
2007, SDCO will increase communication on current research-based professional
development practices to SDCO membership through the use of technology
and periodical publications.
- Through
2003-2007, SDCO will provide high quality sustained professional development
experiences that build capacity to create Professional Learning Communities
focused on student learning.

By 2007, SDCO will be recognized as the source of knowledge of high
quality professional development practices.

By 2007, SDCO will have effective organizational structures that will
result in stable leadership and sound fiscal strategies.
