Jenny Schilling is currently a curriculum supervisor for the Miami County Educational Service Center in Troy, a position she has held for the past four years. In addition to assisting districts with K-12 curriculum, Jenny works as a literacy consultant helping teachers and administrators across the state to design and implement research based classroom literacy instruction. Prior to her Miami County ESC position, Jenny served 22 years as a classroom, Title I and Reading Recovery teacher with Troy City Schools. She began her teaching career with Southwestern City Schools in Grove City and The Academy of the Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Jenny earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami University and her Master in Education in supervision and curriculum from Wright State University.

Jenny and her husband of 32 years, Jeff, live in Troy. They are the parents of three daughters; Jessica, a kindergarten teacher in Indiana, Sarah, a student at Sinclair Community College and her twin sister, Emily, a student at Ashland University. Jenny loves to read, garden and travel. She is very active in her church and community. Jenny is looking forward to the opportunity to work with SDCO. She has been involved with various local level staff development committees over the years, but is a recent recruit to the work of the National Staff Development Council and its affiliates. Jenny attributes her success in education to her first and second grade teachers who have remained two of her closest friends and mentors.
